Intermarriage in Eastern Europe and Eurasia:  Ethnic Mixing Under Fascism, Communism, and Beyond

We seek contributors to an interdisciplinary edited volume on the phenomenon of ethnic intermarriage in twentieth-century Eastern Europe and Eurasia.  We have already assembled a group of experts in a number of geographic and disciplinary fields and now seek several more contributions to complete the volume.

Despite the prevalence of intermarriage in a region historically characterized by great ethnic, linguistic, and religious heterogeneity, the topic has received little systematic attention from scholars.  Our volume will juxtapose the most recent research on interethnic mixed marriage in and across different cultures and will place the individual case studies in a comparative European/Eurasian context.
